Dori Saltzman

Dori Saltzman has been writing about travel since 2007, with a focus on the cruise industry and retail strategies for the trade.

Her debut novel was inspired by her years of coverage of the cruise and travel agency industries (though she’s never actually encountered a murder). When she’s not writing – for work or pleasure – you can find her slowly ticking items off her travel bucket list, reading cozy mysteries, and hanging out with her clowder of rescue cats.

She is a NATJA (North American Travel Journalists Association)-award winning writer.

On a More Personal Note

When I’m not busy writing I love to travel the world, particularly by cruise ship. (You never know who you’re going to meet — see photo below!)

Some of my favorite travel experiences have been a safari in Tanzania, swimming with curious sea lions in the Galapagos, living in Romania, walking the coast of Northern Ireland, and exploring Australia.

I’m also an animal lover and when traveling the world take every opportunity to see the local nature. I’ve hugged a panda in China, rescued baby turtles in Mexico, run away from an angry Capuchin monkey in Costa Rica, and pet a porcupine in Alaska.

At home in New Jersey, you’ll find me  practicing broken Romanglish (Romanian+English) with my husband, playing with our seven cats, or watching The Princess Bride  for the umpteenth time.
